El diario boliviano El Día publicó que la Coordinación Sanidad Aviar, dependiente de la Dirección Sanidad e Inocuidad Agropecuaria (Sedacruz) de la Gobernación del Departamento de Santa Cruz (oriente), informó que ya están procesando los datos del Censo Avícola 2016 donde se logró registrar a 24,821,710 aves comerciales en el departamento en 1,479 establecimientos, tomando en cuenta que el ciclo avícola es de cinco veces al año, estamos hablando de más de 111 millones de pollos que se producen en un año. Esto quiere decir un incremento entre 8 a 10 por ciento en comparación con el año pasado.
