Se pronostica que para el período 2012/13 va a crecer un 30 por ciento

La corredora brasileña Brasoja informó hace unos días que para la cosecha de 2012/13 la producción de Suramérica de soya va a superar la marca de las 150 millones de toneladas. Aunque depende del clima, de confirmarse este pronóstico, esto va a representar un aumento del 30 por ciento en comparación con el volumen que la empresa calculó para el ciclo 2011/12 de 116 millones de toneladas.

Este ciclo ha estado también afectado por el clima, principalmente la sequía en el Sur de Brasil. En particular, la producción de Brasil va a aumentar de las 65 millones de toneladas en 2011/12 a 85 millones en el siguiente período. La cosecha argentina, que también ha estado afectada por la sequía, va a incrementarse de 41 millones a 55 millones de toneladas, mientras que la paraguaya pasará de 4.5 millones a 8 millones de toneladas. De entre las afectaciones climáticas, los pronósticos hablan de que El Niño va a provocar lluvias por arriba del promedio en el sur que van a beneficiar la producción regional.
