Además del alza en el precio del maíz, los productores avícolas enfrentan un “momento difícil” al no conseguir cereal suficiente para abastecer el sector, advierte el Centro de Empresas Procesadoras Avícolas (CEPA).

Productores avícolas argentinos estarían enfrentando altos costos de maíz y una posible escasez del cereal, lo que podría afectar su producción, según el Centro de Empresas Procesadoras Avícolas (CEPA).

“Muchas empresas avícolas del sector están atravesando un momento difícil al no encontrar en el mercado interno partidas de maíz suficientes para abastecer las necesidades de consumo mínimas indispensables”, expresó en un comunicado el presidente del CEPA, Roberto Domenech.

El CEPA advirtió que en las últimas semanas el precio interno del maíz ha aumentado. De acuerdo con Infobae, “los productores no están cerrando nuevas ventas luego de haber pre vendido en diciembre pasado gran parte de su cosecha, para cubrirse del aumento de las retenciones que implementó el gobierno de Alberto Fernández”.

“Estamos con los precios que vamos ofreciendo que están muy por encima de la exportación y, sin embargo, no conseguimos el cereal necesario”, sostuvo Domenech.

El líder gremial destacó que se han utilizado productos alternativos como el trigo o la cebada para reducir el consumo de maíz, pero que esto “perjudica la eficiencia de conversión y desestabiliza otros mercados”.

“Si bien faltan más de 45 días para el ingreso de la nueva cosecha de maíz, ese hecho tampoco asegura que la actual situación pueda revertirse, dado que frente al notable adelantamiento de ventas ocurrido el año pasado, los empresarios agrícolas ya vendieron a la exportación casi 18 millones de toneladas de maíz de la campaña 2019-20”, agregó.
