De acuerdo con informes de la Asociación Brasileña de Reciclaje Animal (ABRA), con información obtenida de la publicación Jornal O Valor, el brote del virus de la peste porcina africana (PPA) en China hizo que las empresas brasileñas de procesamiento de carne ganaran BRL17,600 millones (US$4,479 millones) en valores de mercado solo en abril. Cabe mencionar que es en este mes en que los analistas de importantes brókeres empezaron a incluir el impacto de esta enfermedad.
