Panamá y China firmaron un protocolo para la inspección, cuarentena y otros requisitos veterinarios para suministrar carne avícola.

Autoridades de Panamá y la República Popular China concluyeron el 17 de noviembre en Pekín la firma de un protocolo sanitario para la exportación de carne de aves, de acuerdo con información publicada por el Ministerio panameño de Desarrollo Agropecuario (Mida).

Dicho protocolo regulará la inspección, cuarentena y los requisitos sanitarios veterinarios que deben cumplir la carne de aves, principalmente pollo, para su exportación al gigantesco mercado asiático. También incluye un anexo con la lista de 10 subproductos comestibles de pollo elegibles que integrarían el acuerdo.

La firma estuvo a cargo del embajador de Panamá en China, Leonardo Kam, en representación de los Ministerios de Salud y de Desarrollo Agropecuario, mientras que por parte de la República Popular China estuvo la representación del director general de la Administración de Aduanas, Ni Yuefeng.

Según se informó, este es el tercer protocolo de exportación que se firma durante la presente administración para facilitar el acceso de productos panameños a China. El pasado diciembre se firmaron los respectivos protocolos para la exportación de carne de cerdo y de productos acuícolas y habilitación para empresas exportadoras de banano.

“El Gobierno Nacional a través del Ministerio de Desarrollo Agropecuario, Ministerio de Salud y de la Cancillería sigue comprometido con el sector abriendo nuevas oportunidades a la producción nacional agropecuaria hacia importantes destinos para nuestros productos de calidad como lo es el mercado de China”, destacó el ministro de Desarrollo Agropecuario, Augusto Valderrama.

Según nuestra base de datos de WATT Global Media, Panamá produjo el año pasado 110 millones de pollos. Son tres empresas, Productos Toledano, Grupo Melo y Arce Avícola, las que produjeron el 63% de los pollos del país.
