Costa Rica: Cargill aumenta su inversión en US$80 millones a través de Pipasa

La compañía Cargill ampliará su participación en el mercado avícola costarricense con la inversión de US$80 millones e impulsando el potencial productivo y comercial de Pipasa.

La compañía estadounidense Cargill, tras seis meses de haber comprado la empresa costarricense Pipasa, pretende ampliar su participación en el mercado avícola de Costa Rica. Para lo cual, pretende invertir US$80 millones en los años venideros.

La compañía continúa operando bajo el nombre Pipasa, que recientemente ha introducido la marca Kimby Pavo y prontamente ingresará con la comercialización de embutidos de pavo bajos en grasa con el nombre Cinta Azul Bienestar

De acuerdo al director de la Cámara Avícola, Sr. Wílliam Caroza, manifestó que el Comercio Exterior y el Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal consiguieron que las exportaciones costarricenses de carne de pollo y cecinas ingresen a Centroamérica.

Por su parte, el presidente de Cargill Meats Central America, Sr. Bruce Burdett, define que las próximas metas están basadas en el potencial de Pipasa debido a la innovación y trayectoria, por lo cual el objetivo principal es potenciar la cadena productiva y comercialización, para obtener óptimos resultados.

Las cifras de la Cámara Avícola muestran que la participación del mercado está dividido entre: Pipasa, Cargill con 65%; y las empresas Avícola Ricura, Walmart y Pollo Rey, Multi Inversiones se distribuyen el 35%.
