Voceros del gobierno reconocen que existen 20 empresas en funcionamiento que producen el 95 por ciento del pollo que se consigue en este país caribeño.
Los costos de los insumos, la regulación de precios y el incremento salarial obligaron el cierre de 130 de las 143 empresas avícolas existentes en el estado venezolano de Táchira, limítrofe con Colombia. “La producción avícola se fue al piso. Casi todas las granjas cerraron porque no podemos seguir trabajando a pérdida. Los productores del Táchira estamos quebrados”.
