En el primer semestre del año, creció cerca del doble del promedio registrado por todas las proteínas de origen animal juntas; solo la producción porcina tuvo un comportamiento mayor.
De enero a junio, el subsector pecuario del Perú logró un incremento de 0.7%, explicado, principalmente, por la mayor producción de pollo que se incrementó en 1.1% (mayor colocación de pollitos de un día de líneas pesadas en Lima, La Libertad e Ica), y huevo de gallina en 1.9% (por alza en el número de gallinas ponedoras en las mismas regiones).
