Un estudio realizado en EUA indica que los precios avícolas aumentarán más del 20 por ciento al consumidor mexicano

Mientras México se encuentra en el proceso de tomar una decisión definitiva sobre los aranceles del antidumping de los cuartos traseros de Estados Unidos, un estudio realizado por Dermot Hayes, profesor de economía y finanzas de la Universidad Estatal de Iowa, prevé que los aranceles van a aumentar los precios de los productos avícolas en 22.4 por ciento.

El aumento significativo de los precios hará que el consumidor mexicano reduzca el consumo de pollo en 163,000 toneladas al año. El estudio también calcula que los aranceles eliminarán 250,000 cuartos traseros de pollo del mercado y que los reemplazarán con 79,000 toneladas de pollo entero importado, en lo que México producirá un estimado de 156,000 toneladas adicionales de pollos enteros al año.

La conclusión del estudio es que dentro de un año los precios avícolas en México serán un 11.3 por ciento más altos, lo que obligará al consumidor a recurrir a otras fuentes más baratas de proteína ya que se estima que van a comprar 86,000 toneladas menos de pollo.
