Brasil es el tercer consumidor mundial de carne de pollo

Para Brasil mantenerse en la tercera posición del mercado mundial de consumidores de pollo deberá registrar un consumo interno aproximado de 47.3 kg per cápita.

En el año 2009, Brasil era el quinto mayor consumidor de pollo en el mundo, después de EUA, Hong Kong y tres países de Oriente Medio (Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Kuwait y Arabia Saudita), sin embargo en el 2010 el consumo brasileño subió dos posiciones por delante de Hong Kong y EUA y sólo detrás de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos y Kuwait.

Los dos primeros países líderes no se ven amenazados. Debido a que en el 2011 Brasil debe afianzar aún más su posición y, alcanzar un crecimiento de 4.2% sobre 2010 (ó de 17.1% sobre 2009) para registrar un consumo interno de aproximadamente 47.3 kg per cápita.

Hay que destacar que en la relación, de los “top ten”, compilada a partir de los datos del Departamento de Agricultura de EUA, USDA, cuatro de los seis primeros lugares que están marcados con un asterisco se trata de países que se encuentran entre los 10 principales importadores de carne de pollo de Brasil. Lo cual significa que además de ser el tercer mayor consumidor per cápita del mundo, la carne de pollo brasileña participa del alto consumo de otros cuatro países. De hecho, entre los seis mayores consumidores mundiales, el producto de Brasil sólo no está presente en EUA.
