Colombia inicia exportación de huevo a México

La avicultura colombiana entra a la globalización

Durante el 16° Congreso Nacional Avícola realizado en Cali, el Ministro de Agricultura de Colombia, Juan Camilo Restrepo, junto con Teresita Beltrán, gerente general del Instituto Colombiano Agrcpecuario, y Andrés Moncada, presidente de Fenavi, anunciaron que en las próximas semanas se podría estar exportando el primer embarque de huevo a México. 

Debido al desabastecimiento del producto en México, los empresarios colombianos del sector avícola y las autoridades sanitarias de Colombia aunaron esfuerzos para poder cumplir la meta de exportar huevos frescos, lo que acerca a la avicultura colombiana a su internacionalización. Se calcula que semanalmente se estarán embarcando desde Colombia a México de 20 a 25 contenedores con aproximadamente 6 millones de huevos.

Colombia cuenta con cerca de 32 millones de gallinas ponedoras, y el Sr. Moncada resalta “Las constantes exigencias del mercado, el proceso de desarrollo empresarial y la pujanza de inversionistas, pequeños, medianos y grandes, han hecho que el sector prácticamente se haya duplicado en los últimos doce años”.
