El invierno que se acerca y la demanda de la temporada navideña son las causas del aumento

En los mercados en Ecuador, el precio de pollo por libra pasó de US$0.80 a US$0.90 en el fin de semana pasado y en consecuencia el precio al público aumentó de US$1.30 a US$1.40, según comerciantes locales de pollos.

En mercados que venden pollo en piezas, una pechuga de pollo se vendía en US$2.50 y ahora está en US$3.00 y cada pierna pasó de US$1.50 a US$2.00.

Las comerciantes acreditan el aumento de los precios a la llegada del invierno que afecta el desarrollo del animal y la cercanía de las fiestas navideñas que genera mayor demanda.
