Avicultores y porcicultores dominicanos presentaron pérdidas de US$103 millones

Productores dominicanos manifiestan que el sector privado y gubernamental debe trabajar en conjunto para abastecer a la población y que se puedan obtener resultados positivos.

El año pasado, los productores pecuarios dominicanos tuvieron pérdidas cercanas a US$103 millones, ocasionando la quiebra y cesación de actividades de avicultores y porcicultores de este país.

De acuerdo a los productores, esta situación se debió a la escasa planificación y a una importación excesiva de productos de ambos segmentos, la cual fue apoyada por la entidad gubernamental. Sin embargo, señalan que desde comienzo de este año 2012 se ha presentado una recuperación, los precios han mejorado para la carne de ave, huevos y porcinos.

Asimismo, manifiestas que la situación actual es muy diferente a la del año pasado y que gracias a los mejores precios están obteniendo un margen positivo en el sector avícola y porcino.

Por lo que, consideran que el gobierno en conjunto a los productores de este país deben realizar la planificación agropecuaria, asegurándole a los habitantes una buena alimentación a precios razonables y que los productores logren utilidades al final del ejercicio.
