Pollo chileno podrá volar hasta Tailandia

El Senado de Chile refrendó el Tratado de Libre Comercio suscrito previamente entre ambos gobiernos.

De manera unánime, el Senado chileno aprobó el TLC acordado por las autoridades económicas y aduaneras de la República de Chile y el Reino de Tailandia (sudeste asiático). Así lo informó Estrategia, uno de los diarios económicos del país suramericano, que explicó los pormenores de este tratado.

“Tailandia concede a Chile la eliminación del 90.1 por ciento de sus productos en categoría inmediata, lo que significa que estos podrán ingresar libres de aranceles desde el primer día de vigencia del Tratado. Por su parte, Chile otorga a Tailandia la eliminación de aranceles a un 90.6 por ciento de sus productos, entre los que se destacan el petróleo, el gas natural, automóviles, camionetas y conservas de piña”.

En definitiva, un acceso preferencial inmediato para un amplio rango de productos sin considerar excepciones es el que contempla el texto del TLC refrendado. “Con la aprobación de este instrumento internacional que obtuvo el respaldo unánime en la Sala del Senado se consolida la tendencia de Chile de concretar tratados comerciales con más del 85 por ciento del producto interno bruto mundial, convirtiéndose en un ejemplo de inserción internacional en un mundo cada vez más globalizado”, comentó el senador Francisco Chahuán.

Dentro de los productos chilenos que podrán exportarse sin arancel a Tailandia se encuentran las paltas (aguacates), nueces, pasas, leche condensada, carnes de bovinos, de aves, de cerdo, papeles y cartones, cátodos y concentrados de cobre, entre otros. Según datos publicados por la Asociación de Productores Avícolas de Chile (APA), esta nación ocupa el lugar 11 entre las más grandes exportadoras de carne de pollo, representando menos del 1 por ciento de la producción mundial. En 2014, Chile exportó US$240 millones a diversos destinos: EUA (30 por ciento), Unión Europea (26 por ciento), México (22 por ciento), Hong Kong (7 por ciento), Colombia (3 por ciento) y otros destinos (12 por ciento).
